You've watched the tutorials. You've bought the courses. And you still have a folder full of unfinished tracks.
What you probably need now is a real person who listens to your music and tells you exactly what to change.
The hard part is knowing who to trust. "One-to-one" means very different things on different websites. So we've read the main online music production mentors' own pages and laid out how each one actually works.

1. Future Sound Academy Artist Development
Artist Development is our own programme at Future Sound Academy. It's one-to-one music production mentoring online over Zoom, anywhere in the world. You get 12 private sessions over three months with one of our residents, working inside your own projects.
Our residents have real records behind them. Dave Parkinson, our Head of Production, co-wrote and co-produced Tiësto and Mark Knight's "Beautiful World" and has worked on records for Simon Patterson and Sean Tyas. MYTHM is an international touring dubstep and riddim artist, supported by the originators of dubstep, including Mala and Skream, with records played by REZZ and Zeds Dead. Founder Matt Leigh mentors in techno and house.
It suits producers who can already make music but can't finish it, or can't find a sound that's theirs. It's for serious producers, it's by application only, and places are limited. You can see how Artist Development works here.
2. Toolroom Academy Production Masterclass
Toolroom Academy is the education arm of the Toolroom Records label. Its Production Masterclass is fully one-to-one, with no group work at any point. It runs for 20 weeks in Ableton or Logic, with weekly one-to-one lessons, weekly A&R feedback and assignments, and a marketing and career plan at the end.
Tutors include house producer D. Ramirez, Ben Keen of Tuff London, and A&R Pete Griffiths, who has 20 years in the industry.
It's built for producers who already finish tracks but aren't label-ready yet. It only teaches house, tech house and techno, so it won't suit you if you make trance or bass music.
3. FaderPro Mentor My Production
FaderPro offers live 90-minute sessions on Zoom or Google Meet, booked one to four at a time. You work inside your own DAW on any topic, with high-quality audio streamed to your mentor through Audiomovers, and sessions can be recorded.
Mentors include Vincent di Pasquale, who remixed Madonna's "4 Minutes" featuring Justin Timberlake, and Jason Herd, who has released on Defected, Subliminal and Toolroom.

4. Dennis Sheperd 1-on-1 Coaching
Dennis Sheperd is a trance producer and DJ with 20 years' experience and 10 years of coaching. His records include "Fallen Angel" with Ana Criado and Cold Blue, and "Go!" with Markus Schulz. He has signed music to Armada, Anjunabeats and Spinnin', and he mixed In Search Of Sunrise 18.
Coaching is live on Zoom, fully customised, with a two-hour minimum. He teaches in Cubase, Ableton, Logic and Bitwig, and covers mixing, mastering, finishing tracks and career advice.
It suits trance, progressive, melodic, house and techno. He works from Bali, so check the time difference before you book.
5. PEAK Producer Training Mentor Program
PEAK was founded by Mark Yardley, one half of Stanton Warriors, who lists over 250 releases and 300+ credits across more than 20 years.
The Mentor Program is four 90-minute one-to-one sessions on Zoom, taken weekly or monthly, with two-way screen and audio sharing. Sessions are recorded, you get homework in between, and you can email your mentor directly.
It covers house, garage, breaks, DnB, trap and more. Places are hard to get, as the programme is usually full and runs a waiting list.
6. Pick Yourself Music Producer Coaching
Pick Yourself is run by Philip Röder, a Berlin mixing and mastering engineer with more than 15 years in the industry and close to 1,000 projects, including work with Tez Cadey and labels such as Sony Music and Universal.
The programme gives you 24 one-to-one coaching sessions, plus weekly group Q&A calls. You start with a free discovery call, then a kick-off session to set your goals.
It's aimed at producers who feel stuck and can't finish music. Two things to check: the page doesn't state session length, and your sessions are with "an experienced coach", who may not be Philip himself.
7. Education & Bass 1-1 Mentoring
Education & Bass began as a feedback event on Brick Lane in London. It now offers one-hour one-to-one sessions, online or in person, covering production, theory, the business side and track-by-track critiques. Book several and you get a roadmap, and you can record your sessions.
It was founded by producer Nomine aka Outrage, whose background includes Tempa, Metalheadz and Rinse FM.
It's a strong pick for bass music. The mentoring page lists nine mentors, including N-Type, with credits on each mentor's profile page. It doesn't say how you're matched, though, so ask who you'll work with before you book.
8. EDMProd The Producer Launchpad
EDMProd's Producer Launchpad starts with a one-to-one onboarding call. After that, the live time is project workshops three times a week, in a hybrid one-to-one and small-group format. You also get weekly video feedback on a track, email coaching and 200+ hours of courses.
Coaches include Aden Russell, who produces as Artsea, and John Kammerer, who produces as Hello Ego and has taught at ICON Collective.
It suits newer producers in any genre and any DAW, with at least three months' experience. Bear in mind most of the live time is shared with other producers, and the page currently asks new producers to join a waiting list.
How Do You Choose the Right One for You?
Start with your genre. Pick someone whose credits sit in the music you make.
Then look at the format. If you want a mentor who really knows you and your tracks, choose private sessions over weeks or months, not a one-off session or a group call.
